Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is now $10 per person. Ask any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

| October Meeting Notes by Dan Hodge Draught Board 15 Meeting of October 13, 2019 It was annunced that the date for the Victorian Dinner is Dec.18th, 2019. Once again members will receive a special discount. Details to come. Our November meeting will feature Scott Kowalski of Merchant du Vin as our guest speaker. In January we are arranging for a guest speaker from St. Killian. The meeting began at 4:25 pm and was a home-brew competition of the English Brown Ale style. There were 8 home-brew entries and 3 commercial examples of the style. Members present were Dan Hodge, Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti, Vince Capano, Jeff Levine, Jon Reed, Tim Terhune, Livingston Hinckley and Glenn De Luca. There were three non-members present. The beers were presented in the usual blindfold manner with members rating them on a scale of one to ten, strictly according to what they liked. The results were: 1st. prize with 74 points……beer #6 Dan Hodge 2nd prize with 70 points……beer #1 Vince Capano 3rd prize with 69 points…beer #2 Tim Terhune (#1 beer) 4th prize with 67 points… beer 3 11 Chris Johnson 5th prize with 63 points beer #10 Sam Smith’s Nut Brown Ale (commercial) 6th prize with 56 points… beer #5 Jeff Levine 7th prize (tie) with 55 points Livingston Hinckley’s extract and Newcastle (commercial) 9th prize with 54 points…Tim Terhune’s # 2 (espresso) 10th prize with 50 points Leffe Bruin (commercial) 11th prize with 49 points Livingston Hinckley’s all grain Beers tried after the meeting were: Jeff Levine’s Hoppy Wit home-brew Brix City Lichee Gimlet Gose provided by Vince Capano Industrial Arts Sate of the Art Farmhouse Double IPA provided by Tim Terhune Von Trapp Double IPL provided by Vince Capano Long Trail Green Blaze provided by Vince Capano ===================== Do you have beer pictures you want to see posted on this page?
