The DB15 is the largest beer appreciation organization in New
Jersey, but what about the East Coast? Well it's time to make
our move. Bring a new member to the next meeting, have them
officially register, and get a Gaslight beer compliments of the
DB15 Cask Commissioners.
Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan?
Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the
full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings,
plus discounts for DB15 special events.
This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues
amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY
beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers
Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full
pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is
now $10 per person.
Ask any Cask Commissioner
for the full details at the next meeting.

|February Meeting Notes
by Dan Hodge
The regular meeting started at 4:20 with just a few members
in attendance due to weather conditions. Present were
Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti, Dan Hodge, Vince Capano, Matt
Chuchla, Livingston Hinckley and Mark Ferguson.
Also present was non-member Donna Seale, for whom
the $10 non-member fee was waived since she doesn’t
like beer and therefore didn’t drink any. Go figure.
The meeting was a presentation given by DJ on various
hops, how they are used, harvested, characteristics, origins,
etc. Extremely informative.A dozen examples of various
hops were displayed, both pellets and leaf.
After DJ’s talk several examples of single hop beer were
presented with each member having practically as much
as he wanted due to the low turnout. The beers were:
1.Flying Dog Azacca Imperial IPA (Azacca hops)
2.Ellicotville Mosaic Sunrise IPA (Mosaic Hops)
3.Bolero Snort Moosaic IPA (Mosaic hops)
4.Terrapin Mosaic Red Rye IPA (Mosaic hops)
5. Evil Twin City Sunshine Slacker Session IPA (Citra hops)
6.Clown Shoes Galactica IPA (Galaxy hops)
7.Easy Ryder Citra Session IPA (not a true single hop brew
but leaning heavily toward City hops)
Beers tried after the meeting were:
1.Gaslight Chernobyl Double IPA (07270 hops)
provided by DJ
2.Hodge’s 2017 Steam Beer home-brew provided
by Dan Hodge
3.Schmaltz Jewbelation 20 (16.8%) beer provided
by Vince Capano
4.Anchor Liberty IPA provided by DJ
