Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is now $10 per person. Ask any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

January Meeting Notes by Dan Hodge Several changes in meeting dates were announced. Due to the conflict with Valentine’s Day the February meeting will be moved to February 21st. Our March meeting ( IPA Brackets) has been changed to March 6th because of scheduling conflicts. Our April meeting will be the trip to TAP-NY on April 24 and the May meeting date will now be May 15 due to Mother's day falling on our usual second Sunday of the month. Dues for DB 15 will remain at $65 for the upcoming year so the yearly dues plus the ticket for Tap NY will be $125. Essentially that means $60 buys a member coffee and bagels in the Gaslight, a bus ride featuring draught beer on the bus, admission to the festival which includes four plus hours of drinking great craft beers ,free chow of all kinds, and a bus ride home, provided the member can find the bus after four plus hours of drinking great craft beers. The actual meeting commenced at 4:10pm. Members present were: Dan Hodge, Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti. Vince Capano, Jeff Levine, Matt Chuchla, Vince Holmes, Chris Johnson. Livingstoin Hinckley, Mark Ferguson, Andrew MacKenzie, Tom Nooney, Brandon Einhorn, Glenn De Luca, and Leo Porter-Lee. Non member present was Troy Titus who paid the $10 admission fee. Don't miss some of the finest home brewers in the state vying for the coveted DB15 Gold Medal. Everyone present will vote for the winner! Style Dopplebock Doppel’ meaning “double,” this style is a bigger and stronger version German-style bock beers.Originally made by monks in Munich. Very rich and malty. Can have significant melan- oidins and often some toasty flavors. Lighter versions will a strong malt flavor and toasty notes. A slight chocolate flavor is optional but should never be perceived as roasty or burnt. Clean lager flavor with no diacetyl. Some fruitiness (prune, plum or grape) is optional. There will be an impression of alcoholic strength, but this should be smooth and warming Little to no hop flavor. Fairly sweet, but should have an impression of attenuation.
