Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is now $10 per person. Ask any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

June Meeting Notes by Dan Hodge Regular meeting commenced at about 4:20. Members present were: Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti, Dan Hodge, Vince Capano, Tom Nooney, Matt Chuchla, John Reed, Livingston Hinckley, Nick Moramarco, Mark Ferguson, Glenn DeLuca, Leo Porter,. and Lynn Lewis. Non-member Neil Mukharjee was present and paid his $10. The meeting was a presentation of 11 Scandinavian beers with members being asked to rate them 1to 5 according to their own preference and also to try to guess the beer by both it’s name and style, which were provided, as well as trying to match the beer with general descriptions as provided by Beer Advocate The beers were: Nogne O Double IPA (Norway) Nogne o Peculiar Ale (Norway) Nogne O Tiger Tripel (Norway) Nogne O Imperial Dunkelwit (Norway) Huvila Arctic Circle Ale (Finland) Carlsberg Pils (Denmark) Elephant Malt Liquor (Denmark) Einstock White Ale (Iceland) Einstock Toasted Porter (Iceland) Einstock Pale Ale (Iceland) Limfjord’s Thisted Bryghus Porter (Denmark) In order of preference the winners were: 29 points three way tie Einstock White Ale, Elephant Malt Liquor, Limfjord’s Bryghus 4. 28 points Carlsberg Pils 5. 27 points Nogne O Imperial Dunkelwit 6. 25 points tie Einstock Pale Ale, None O Tiger Tripel 8. 24 points Einstock Toasted Porter 9. 22 points Nogne O Double IPA 10. 20 points Nogne O Peculiar Yule 11. 14 points Nogne O Tiger Tripel Two people got 5 out 11 correct which was the highest. Beers tried after the meeting were: 1.Bear Republic Mach 10 IPA provided by Tom Nooney 2. Flying Dog Airwaves IPL provided by Livingston Hinckley 3. Austin Bourbon Barrel Mead provided by Livingston Hinckley 4. Straight to Ale Belgian Quad provided by Tom Nooney 5. Brotherly Suds CBC Rye Bock Lager provided by DJ Soboti 6. Nebraska Melange a Trois Belgian Ale in Chardonnay barrels provided by Vince Capano ----------------------- Members - don't forget to pick up your free DB15 half liter stein at the meetings.
