The DB15 is the largest beer appreciation organization in New
Jersey, but what about the East Coast?  Well it's time to make
our move.  Bring a new member to the next meeting, have them
officially register, and get a Gaslight beer compliments of the
DB15 Cask Commissioners.

Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan?

Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the
full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings,
plus discounts for DB15 special events.

This year members received benefits that totaled well
over the dues
amount.  Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY
beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers
Festival, and the Victorian Dinner.  In addition members on the full
pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is
now $10 per person.

Notes on the July Meeting

Meeting began at 4:20 pm. Members present were Dan
Soboti, DJ Soboti, Vince Capano, Dan Hodge
, Jeff Levine,John Reed,  Glenn DeLuca, Mark Ferguson,
Andrew MacKenzie, Tom Nooney.  Non-members
present were Jenny Todd, and Erin Berg.

Meeting was a competition of Hefeweizen style beers,
matching Bavarian versions against Americans. Attendees
rated the blindfolded beers on a scale of one to ten.
Results were as follows:

1st. place - 87 points   Yuengling Summer Wheat
2nd. place  82 points Schneider Weiss
Original Tap 7 Hefeweizen
3rd. place - 77 points Franziskaner hefeweizen
4th. place - 76 points Erdinger Hefeweizen
5th. place - 75 points  Ramstein Blonde
6th. place - 74 points Hofbrau Hefeweizen
7th. place - 66 points Sly Fox Royal Weisse Ale
8th. place-  65 points Sierra Nevada Kellerweiss
9th. place - 64 points Leavenworth
Whistling Pig Hefeweizen
10th. place - 61 points Hacker-Pschorr Hefeweizen
11th. place - 59 points Koenig-Ludwig Hefeweizen
12th. place -  55 points Widmer Brothers Hefe
13th. place  - 44 points Veldensteiner Hefeweizen

Americans beat the Germans overall by one point.

Beers tried after the meeting were:
1.Hodge’s homebrewed draught ESB
2.Boulevard Tropical Pale Ale, provided by Tom Nooney
3. Old Dominion Double IPA, provided by Tom Nooney
4. Bear Republic Black Racer IPA, provided by Tom Nooney

Left over beers were distributed among the members
who paid $5 each for the privilege of selecting beers by
number in our usual fashion. Each member went home
with at least three bottles.
