Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is now $10 per person. Ask any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

DB 15 Meeting of September 9, 2018 by Dan Hodge Meeting started at 4:10 PM and was a sampling of ten different styles of beer from ten different craft breweries in Virginia. Members present were Dan Hodge, Vince Capano, Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti, Livingston Hinckley, Glenn DeLuca, Tim Terhune, John Reed, Ryan Smith, Chris Smith, Dave Simone, Julia Aquino and Ms. Sweeney The beers were brought out and tried with attendees voting on their favorite at the end. Beers were: Busthead Brewing Co. Vint Hill Va. English style pale ale Chaos Mountain Brewery Callaway, Va. Squatch Scotch Ale Center of the Universe Brewing Co. Asland Va. Pocahoptas IPA Legend Brewing Co. Richmond, Va. Brown Ale O’Connor Brewing Co. Norfolk, Va. Norfolk Canyon Pale Ale Hardy Park Brewing Co. Richmond, Va. Singel Belgian Abbey Ale James River Brewing Co. Scottsville, Va. River Runner ESB Wasserhund Brewing Co. Virginia Beach, Va. Pure Bred Pils Virginia Beer Co. Williamsburg, Va. Elbow Patches Oatmeal Stout Fair Winds Brewing Co. Lorton, Va Siren’s Lure Saison After the vote was taken, the Single Belgian Abbey Ale received 4 votes, and the Fair Winds Saison got 2. The others received one or none and all agreed that the James River ESB was not right, probably infected. Beers sampled after the meeting were: Magnify The Friend Zone IPA brought by Vince Capano Pipe Dream West to East IPA brought by Glenn deLuca Maine brewing Co. Zoe Amber Ale brought by Tim Terhune Happily Daze IPA home-brew by Livingston Hinckley Grimm Double Negative Imperial Stout brought by Tim Terhune Trillium Sunshower Super Saison brought by Julia Aquino Fat Orange Cat Brg. (contracted by Dorchester Brg) All Cat’s Are Grey in the Dark White IPA brought by Vince Capano Icarus We Want the Idaho Gold Imperial IPA brought by Vince Capano, who seems to have a penchant for seeking out not only high gravity beers, but also those with impossibly long names. All leftover beers were distributed to attendees. Meeting ended about 7:10pm ==================== Special thanks to Dan Hodge who brought all the beers back from Virginia the day of the meeting!
