August Meeting Notes by Dan Hodge Beers from former Soviet by nations Members present were: Dan Hodge, Vince Capano, Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti, Matt Chuchla, Livingston Hinckley, Glenn DeLuca, Tom Nooney, Tim Terhune and Tim Terhune. (Mr. Terhune is listed twice due to his inadvertently being omitted from the minutes of the July meeting. Giving him credit for showing up TWICE at the August meeting should atone for that omission). Meeting was a tasting of former Soviet bloc beers, which were merely presented and discussed. The brews were: 1.Krusovice Imperial Premium 5% ABV Czech Republic 2.Perla Honey Pils 6% Poland 3.Warka Strong Beer (can) 6.5% Poland 4.Zywiec 1881 Porter 9.5% Poland 5.Lomska Dark Lager 6.5% Bulgaria 6.Yarpivo Amber 4.7% Russia 7.Arsenalnoye Extra Lager 7% Russia 8.Baltika Russian Imperial Stout 10% Russia 9.Obolon Premium 5% Ukraine 10.Lvivske 1715 Classic 4.7% Ukraine Unofficially, the favorites seemed to be Lomska, Warka, and Baltika, with almost everyone in agreement that the Perla was terrible. Beers tasted after the meeting were: 1.Toppling Goliath Dorothy’s New World Lager (can) provided by Glenn DeLuca 2.Toppling Goliath Tsunami Pale Ale (can) provided by Glenn DeLuca 3.Young Veteran’s K-Ration Kolsch provided by Dan Hodge 4.Port Brewing Hop 15 provided by Tom Nooney 5.Westbrook Hazelnut Chocolate Imperial Stout provided by Tom Nooney 6.Victory Hoppy Quad provided by Vince Capano 7.Tim Terhune’s Pale Ale home-brew 8.Tim Terhune’s Russian Imperial Stout home-brew 9.A can of Carton Brewing’s Monkey Chased the Weasel Sour Ale provided by Vince Capano. Many attendees were of the opinion that the monkey actually CAUGHT the weasel, scaring the piss out of him, and canned the result) Meeting ended about 6:30pm ================ Members - don't forget to pick up you're complimentary DB15 mug.
