For some, a new novelty baby bottle made to resemble a beer bottle is the perfect
gag gift for sleep-deprived new parents, others say it sends the wrong message. It's
a child-safe nursing bottle that can hold up to 10 ounces of your child’s favorite
drink—preferably milk.  The bottle goes on sale this April for $11.99.  The
manufacturer insist that the product is tongue-in cheek so everyone should relax.

A man is accused of shooting his friend over the  wrong brand of beer.  Clarence
Sturdivant, 64, allegedly shot his neighbor when the victim  returned from the store
with Busch beer – the suspect prefers Budweiser. An argument about which is better
– Busch or Budweiser – reportedly ensued which led to the shooting. .

A motorcycle trooper parked along Interstate 5 in WA stopped a vehicle in the
carpool lane. The trooper then discovered the "passenger" was a cardboard cutout
of the actor who portrays "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in Dos Equis beer
ads. The driver's response? "He's my best friend."  The officer tweeted: "I don't
always violate the HOV lane law ... but when I do, I get a $124 ticket."

The world's most expensive coffee is made with Indonesian cat poop. Now, you can
drink it in a Michigan beer.  Perrin Brewing Co. has released an imperial brown ale
called Big Konas, a 7.4 p% ABV beer made with Indonesian civet coffee and cacao
nibs from Equador and Ghana.  Civet coffee is made from coffee cherries that were
eaten, digested and defecated by the Asian palm civet, a cat-like tree-dweller whose
digestive tract partially ferments the beans. The coffee itself sells for over $100 a lb.

The term 'toddlers' originated in England. There were so many impurities in the
drinking water that was unfit to drink.. A common alternative drink was beer.  It was
cheap, plentiful and the water used to make it was cleaned during the initial boiling
during brewing. Toddlers, just weaning off of mothers milk, were often  given the
beer;  coupled with uncertainties of learning to walk really made them "toddle".

One of the few short sentences in the English language to include every letter of the
English alphabet is: "Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs."

Now that it's Spring try our version of a Gazpacho soup: 1/2 cup water, 2 1/2 cups
plain yogurt, 1 cup of beer, 1/4 cup chopped dill, 1 diced cucumber, 3 hard boiled
eggs, 3 boiled potatoes diced, salt and pepper to taste.

"I am a firm believer in the people.  If given the truth they can be depended upon to
meet any national crisis.  The great point is to bring them the real facts and beer."
Abraham Lincoln

In a modern breathalyzer  the subject's breath is passed over a platinum electrode,
which causes the alcohol to bind with oxygen, forming acetic acid. That sets up a
current in a wire connected to the electrode. The higher the concentration of alcohol
in the breath, the greater the electrical current, which is read by a simple meter to
indicate intoxication levels.

In Egypt there is a beer called "bousa", which is brewed from millet and has been
around for over 3,000 years. Modern Ethiopia has a version made from wheat. It
has been speculated that this may have been the origin for the word "booze."

A tunnel leading from the St. James's Gate Guinness brewery to Dublin's River
