Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is now $10 per person. Ask any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

December Meeting Notes by Dan Hodge It was announced that the member discount for the Victorian Dinner will remain the same as last year. Costs are: $90/regular cost, $45/member, $50/ member’s guest (only one guest per member). Also announced was that our January meeting would be a sampling of barrel aged beers, February's meeting will be a homebrew competition in the doppelbock style, with the usual rules applying, and the March meeting will be our most popular one of the year, the “bracket” IPA meeting with all NEW IPAs except for the Final Four from 2015(Clown Shoes, Six Point, Boulevard Single Wide and Cigar City). Regular meeting commenced at 4:10pm. Members present were: all the cask commissioners, Glenn deLuca, Brandon Einhorn, Tom Nooney, Faith Franzino Livingston Hinckley, John Reid, Rebecca Espinal, Vince Holmes, Sean Guarnaccio, Mark Ferguson, Nick Moramarco, Lynn Lewis, Ralph Inglese. Non members each paying $10 were David Bumb, Rick White, Sue White and Drew Jones Meeting featured a speaker, Garret Brown, representative of Firestone Walker brewery of Paso Robles, Ca., the only brewery in the US using the Burton Union brewing system. They are currently doing 300.000 bbls/yr, but expect to expand to 500,000bbls in 2016. He brought 5 beers to be tried: 1. Double Barrel Ale (5% ABV) the “flagship” beer of the brewery but not the largest seller 2. Pivo Hoppy Pils (5.3% ), the third best seller 3. Pale 31 Ale (4.9%) which the brewery has won the most gold medals for in their history. 4. Easy Jack IPA (4.5%) which was originally released as a seasonal but is now year-round 5. Double Jack IPA (8.5%)ca Mr. Brown also explained that the brewery no longer does contract brewing because of capacity limitations but is considering having some of their beers contracted at Boulevard in Kansas City. The club presented Mr.Brown with the an honorary membership and also included a complimentary official Draught Board 15 half liter stein, the first person in recorded history to have been awarded this prestigious drinking vessel! Beers sampled after the meeting were: 1.Southern Tier Café Tripel, provided by Vince Capano 2.Hodge’s 2015 Oktoberfest homebrew Meeting concluded and moved downstairs to quaff yet another Firestone Walker brew, Union Jack IPA on tap ----------------------- Members - don't forget to pick up your free DB15 half liter stein at the meetings.
