Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is now $10 per person. Ask any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

May 17 Meeting Notes by Dan Hodge Meeting started at 4:16 PM. Members present: Dan Soboti, DJ Soboti, Vince Capano, Jeff Levine, Dan Hodge, John Reed, Matt Chuchla, Brandon Einhorn, Andrew MacKenzie, Faith Franzino, Tom Nooney, Mark Ferguson, Randy Needham, Nick Moramarco, Lynn Lewis, Livingston Hinckley,Mike Depoy, Raffi Manjekian, Chris Johson, Vince Holmes. No non-members were present Meeting was a home-brew competition of the maibock style with all participants using the same ingredients. Each attendee was provided with a bottle of Hofbrau Maibock as a reference point to what the style should be. Beers were rated on scale of 1 to 20. Results were: 1st prize with score of 13.8 Scott Reino (in absentia) 2nd prize with score of 13.43 Livingston Hinckley 3rd prize with score of 12.95 Vince Capano 4th prize with score of 12.05 Tony Soboti 5th prize with score of 11.95 Dan Hodge 6th prize with score of 11.86 Jeff Levine 7th prize with score of 10.19 Chris Johnson 8th prize with score of 10.05 Andrew MacKenzie Top three winners were presented with beautifully designed victory medals with a red/white/blue lanyard. Nick Moramarco won 50/50 Beers tried after the meeting were: Mark Ferguson’s Chimera IPA homebrew Boulevard Tank 7 provided by Tom Nooney Elsian Omen Raspberry Stout provided by Tom Nooney Mark Ferguson’s Scottish Ale home-brew Mark Fergusons “Better than Killian’s” Irish Red homebrew Pike Naughty Nellie Golden Ale provided by Vince Capano Kane 1095 3rd Anniversary Barrel Aged Belgian Ale provided by Chris Johnson Dan Hodge’s 2015 Doppelbock homebrew I forgot to note the ending time of the meeting, which actually just moved downstairs. ------------ ------------------------------------------ TAP- NY Festival The annual DB15/Gaslight bus trip to NY's largest beer festival sold out at a record pace. A packed bus of over 50 beer fans let South Orange at 9:15 AM on April 26 heading for Hunter Mountain (NY). Special thanks to Jeff Levine for securing the travel accommodations for the handicapped club members on the trip. Also thanks to DJ Soboti for organizing the entire adventure. Well done!
