Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan? Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $50 covers all meetings, plus discounts for DB15 special events. This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee. Ask club treasurer Brian Lynch, or any Cask Commissioner for the full details at the next meeting. |

| TAP-NY Trip All records were broken as the Gaslight/ DB15 annual trip to TAP-NY, the largest beer festival on the East Coast,was SOLD OUT over a month before festival day, 4/27/14. Most of the 52 ticket holders arrived at the Gaslight well before the scheduled 9:15 AM departure time to enjoy complimentary bagels and coffee. Then, immediately after boarding the well appointed charter bus, many of them began preparing their palates for the arduous task ahead (over 300 beers awaited) by drinking great Gaslight beer available from two sixtels strategically placed on the bus. This clearly was a serious, totally focused crowd. The group's already high spirits continued to soar when trip planner/director DJSoboti distributed two free gifts to everyone on board - an official DB15/TAP logoed mug and special Velcro festival glass holders complete with an embossed DB15 lanyard. Thanks DJ!! The bus arrived at Hunter mountain in record time thanks to our driver who had only recently retired from the NASCAR racing circuit. In his hands, the hairpin turns on the single lane roads on the climb up the mountains toward our destination became a showcase of his formidable driving skills. Well done! The only negative aspect of the trip occurred upon arrival when our bus was forced to wait by festival officials for well over 15 minutes before unloading passengers. This was compounded by another 15-20 minute wait to enter the festival as each person's ID, especially those over 45 years old, was carefully and intimately scrutinized to insure legal drinking age. Most club members proudly showed their Draught Board 15 membership card and were dutifully admitted. Just more proof that your membership card is accepted anywhere in the world that recognizes it. -------- Special acknowledgement to DB15 member Chris Johnson who, as a champion home brewer, was selected by the Saranac/FX Matt Brewers to collaborate with them on an exclusive festival beer. | Next Meeting Scheduled For June 8 Gaslight will not be available on our regular meeting day of the second Sunday of the month since that is Mother's Day. The following Sunday is Seton Hall graduation day which will make Gaslight again unavailable. As such there will not be a May meeting. Our next meeting will be at 4 PM on June 8, topic TBA. Check back often for any changes in the above schedule. |
