| Beer Diet For Lent A Cincinnati man is taking fasting for Lent to a whole new – and boozy – level. Del Hall, director of sales at local brewery Fifty West Brewing, is giving up everything for his Lenten fast. Except beer. Hall is spending Lent fasting, using beer as his only calorie intake. Friendly reminder: Lent is 46 days long. Traditionally, it includes 40 days of fasting and six Sundays, on which fasting is not practiced. Usually, people just eat fish on Fridays. Hall decided to do something different this year. Instead of giving up fries or social media for a month and a few weeks, he decided to take a step back. Way back. "Just like the monks used to do it back in the 1600s, I'm going to do the same thing," Hall said. "It's not necessarily about the weight loss as it is the challenge of replicating what the monks did." So far he's he's lost 19.2 pounds. Dressing Room Bar It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere — and for one woman, the right time for beer apparently occurred in a Target dressing room. Elysia Johnson, 21, was arrested after she drank a six- pack of beer in a Target dressing room in California recently. According to police, Johnson entered Target around 3:30 pm. and placed several items in a shopping cart then walked grabbed a six-pack of Stella Artois beer, and headed to the dressing room. For over an hour, cops say, she made the dressing room her personal bar and drank the entire six-pack of beer. After consuming the alcohol, she left the store without paying for the more than $200 of items she carried out of the store with her.She was detained by Target’s loss prevention team and later booked into jail claiming she forgot to pay since she drank too much beer. |
