| Strip Club Micro Brewery America's first strip club micro brewery has just opened in Dayton, Ohio. It's called Pinups and Pints. So far the concept has been and unqualified success. When asked about the impact the craft beer is having on business, owner Jay Conrad said, “It’s been great. We’ve been having people come out for the beer.” Alisha, a bartender, noted a similar occurrence: “People are interested in the beer. It’s fun to have more to offer.” Mr. Conrad transformed a former dreary strip club into a modern looking, impressive building and then installed a 15-gallon brewery setup with a high-end SABCO computerized homebrewing system in the bar’s back room. ========= Best Beer Bars In USA Brewers Association announces their 2014 Great American Beer Bars. | You don't say..... Cask ale volume sales in England grew by 1.1% in 2013 and 1.4% so far in 2014. If those sound like small figures, bear in mind that total on-trade beer volumes fell last year - cask ale is doing 4.5% better than beer in pubs overall. --------------------------------. Somehow beer was included with luxury items such as personal airplanes, high-end cars and yachts, in the last increase in excise taxes. Each of those taxes was eventually reduced, with the exception of the one on beer — hardly an elitist luxury — which has remains at twice its historic rate. ------------------------ A fan at the most recent Washington Redskins home game purchased a Bottle of Budweiser that was adorned with a World Cup logo. Only problem is the football game was being played about 2 1/2 months after the World Cup ended and 3 1/2 months after the tournament started. Hey, for only $9 a bottle what did he expect? -------------------- The number of school-age children drinking alcohol in England has fallen to the lowest level since records began. The decline has been long, steady and consistent. ----------------- Canada has had the smallest crop since the 1960s. The US, as well as Europe and Australia are expecting lower yields this year, too. Result - beer prices will rise. Boo! ------------------- A study at the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State Univ. found that Xanthohumol, a type of flavonoid found in hops has been shown to improve cognitive function in young mice. No word about peopl, young or old, however. |
