Goose Island Sofie A somewhat different saison/farmhouse ale, Sofie's nose is fruity and grassy, with some funk and spice from the yeast. First sip brings lightly sour lemons and wheat flavors blended with distinct Chardonnay grape notes. Overall there is a nice mix between robust spice and sourness throughout that leads to a complex, wheat and wine like dry finish. Overall rating:-Good
Harpoon Munich Dark This Munich Dunkel lager weighs in at a session level 5.5% ABV. The aroma is of malts, toasted nuts, and caramel. Flavors of chocolate, cocoa with a light coffee bitterness are balanced by a notes of sweet molasses and toffee. Finish brings a toasty, roasted, sweetness. Nice choice for a session beer but that's it. Overall Rating - Above Average
Dogfish Head Bitches' Brew Brewed to honor Miles Davis, this is an American style Imperial stout (9%). It pours a dark and opaque black and opens with smells of roasted grains and honey. It's fusion of three threads of imperial stout and one thread of honey beer with gesho root results in flavors of sweet roasted malts, light sugar, chocolate, and a faint finish of coffee and gesho. A fitting tribute beer. Overall Rating: Very Good
