Great Lakes Buckin' Mule This is a 6.5% beer that falls in the category of herbed/spiced. Aromas are of ginger backed by notes of toasted bread malts,rye, and orange. The taste follows nose with added lime zest, cirtus hops, and more ginger. Finish is nicely crisp and dry. Surprisingly complex yet balanced. Well made, refreshing, and interesting. Sierra Nevada / Bitburger Oktoberfest Germany’s Bitburger Brewery teamed with Sierra to make this 6% Marzen/Oktoberfest. The nose is dry and features brown bread toast and just a whiff of caramel. Taste brings moderate hop notes that are remind of Bitburger. Flavors feature a light caramel malt, herbal hops with lighly toasted bread. The finish is crisp and clean. Slightly more dry with less sweet malt than typical marzens. Overall Rating: Good |
Lawson's Triple Sunshine This is an American Triple IPA at 10% ABV. Its nose brings bright citrus, orange grapefruit, and pine. Flavors are much the same with added notes of resin and a hint of mango. Nice bitterness in a light fruit surpy. Alcohol is well hidden. Well made as are most things from this fine brewer.
