Kevin Torpey
It started as Delaware’s first brewpub and
then became the smallest commercial
brewery in America. Their very first batch
was brewed on a system which essentially
was three little kegs with propane burners
underneath.  The system so small they
had to brew three times a day, five days a
week. They quickly got bored brewing the
same things over and over – that’s when
they began using all sorts of weird
ingredients and earning a reputation for
making unconventional beers.  Take a
guess... no, we're not talking about
Anheuser-Busch or even the average
craft brewery.  We're talking about a
company that produces 20 styles of beer
that are sold in more than 25 states. The
bard of beer, Michael Jackson, called it
the most interesting  brewery in all the US.

It's the amazing Dogfish Head when they
make "off-centered stuff for off-centered
people" just like us.  And so The Tap
Room proudly presents four of the finest
off-centered brews ever made, together
for the first time on tap.  It's a blowout of
monster brews not for the faint of heart
but perfect for the heart of beer lovers.

Howl With The Dog Night

120 Minute IPA
Hellhound On My Ale
Bitches Brew
---and aged for nearly 2 years--
Old School Barleywine 2011

------------

The most elusive 120 Minute IPA is an
American Imperial IPA that boasts an
incredible 18% ABV and 120 IBUs.  How
hoppy is it?  Well, it was boiled for a full
two hours while being continuously
hopped with high-alpha American hops,
then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter
for a month and aged for another month
on whole-leaf hops! It's not just a hop
bomb, it's more like an Atomic Hop Bomb.
It's been rated "world class" and
"exceptional".  One glass and you'll agree.
Hellhound On MY Ale is a Double IPA
at 10% alcohol and 100 IBUs.  It is dry-
hopped with 100% centennial hops at
a rate of 100 kilos per 100 bl. brew-
length.
Expect  flavors of floral  hops,
orange peel, lemon, honey, biscuit,
malt, and light pineapple. Some sweet
malts help balance things into a sharp,
dry finish.
Truly excellent - one of my favorites.

Dogfish's
Bitches Brew is an Imperial
Stout at 9% ABV.  This is a bold, dark
beer that’s a fusion of three threads
imperial stout and one thread honey
beer with gesho root.  This limited
edition beer always sells out quickly on
those few  times I'm able to get .

For the past two years I've personally
aged our next offering to bring out
depths of flavors that at not present in
younger versions. From 2011 we will
be pouring Dogfish's
Old School Barleywine
It's a 15% ABV  showcase of the
brewer's art with bold yet smooth
flavors of raisins, caramel, orange peel
vanilla,  dates and figs.  Let's just say
that this bone-crushing barleywine is
unique and most enjoyable.

The month of May was named for the
Greek goddess Maia who was identified
with the Roman era goddess of fertility.
The weather warms, the flowers bloom,
and people celebrate.  Celebrate what
you ask?  Well, in the USA, May is
National Barbecue Month, National Bike
Month, National Blood Pressure Month ,
National Hamburger Month, National
Photograph Month and,
National Salad Month

Even more unusual are the days
celebrated.  May 3 is National
Tuba Day, May 4 is National Candied
Orange Peel Day, May 8 is National
No Socks Day, and May 11 is National
Twilight Zone Day.  Really.  There are
quite a few more zany days but there are
only three that count for a beer drinker
and they're celebrated exclusively here at
The Tap Room.  Join us for a

"Black Friday"
Four award winning stouts
All on tap - together for the first time-
Goose Island Big John
Terrapin Wake N Bake
Lost Abbey Serpent's Stout
and
Founders Breakfast Stout
---------
Then the very next day
May 4, Saturday, 6 PM
It's the new version of a beer that sold out
on it's last visit to The Tap Room and
created a buzz around the country.
It's the devastatingly fresh double IPA
Stone Enjoy By 5/17/13
------------
and finally on
May 17, Friday, 6 PM
direct from Chico, CA we offer you
Sierra Nevada
Bigfoot
Belgian Blonde IPA
Summerfest
Hoptimum
and
(it's the one you've heard about)
OVILA QUAD  with PLUMS

---------------------

For "Black Friday" on May 3, I've brought
together four stouts that are distinctly
different to demonstrate the breadth of
the style.  The
Goose Island Big John is
an imperial stout with a ABV of 11.5%.
It features a massive chocolate flavor
and aroma.  It's thick and creamy with
added notes of oak and molasses.
Terrapin Wake N Bake (8.1% ABV) is
a coffee - oatmeal Double American
Stout.  It's actually brewed with roasted
coffee making for  bold espresso
flavors.  The
Lost Abbey Serpent 's
Stout
is an 11% ABV gem of a beer.
It's more dry than our other stouts with
lighter carbonation as found in the
Belgian-style category.  It features
notes of bittersweet baker’s chocolate.
The
Founders Breakfast Stout  is an
Imperial Stout (10.5% ABV) and the
only one in the group made with bitter
and sweetened imported chocolates,
Sumatra and Kona coffee  It balances
a rich maltiness with a strong
bitterness.  Many beer fans like it
better than Founders KBS!
.
Stone Enjoy By 5/17/13 is a dream
come true for hop lovers. It is  brewed
NOT to last. You’re getting this beer
within an extraordinarily short window
so it will be perhaps the freshest beer
you've ever had!  Fresh means flavor
and flavor means hops! It's a citrus &
pine explosion of flavor -here on May 4
Supply is very  limited; it won't last long.

Sierra Nevada comes to The Tap
Room on May 17 with five amazing
brews.
Bigfoot, a cult-classic beast of
a barleywine (9.6%). It brims with bold
flavors of bittersweet malt and whole-
cone hops. The
Belgian Blonde IPA
(7.5%) features lightly sweet  tropical
fruit flavors with a  brisk hop finish.
The
Summerfest  is a refreshing lager
(5%) in the Czech tradition.  It's clean
and crisp with a light grassy bitterness
that is balanced nicely by toasted malts.
Hoptimum (10.4%) is a knock your
socks off,100 IBU, whole-cone
hurricane of flavor. It's the hop
king of  Imperial IPAs!
The
Ovila Quad with Plums  has only
been brewed once!  Very complex, the
beer is a collaboration between Sierra
Nevada and the monks of the Abbey of
New Clairvaux (CA). It features sugar
plums grown at the Abbey and
harvested by the monks themselves.
All here - on tap - May 17 at 6 PM.
