In Greenland some brewers derive their water from melting 2,000 year old icebergs
that are transported by local fishermen from the source to the brewery.  The result
is simply called "ice beer".  And yes, Bud Ice is a totally different beer.

If you like veggies we recommend paring that plate full of greens with a German
pilsner or Munich Helles Lager.  The floral and earthy hops of each will also go well
with things like zucchini and peppers.  If you're having eggplant try a Schwarzbier.

Despite the fact that China produces 25% of the world's beer it is only ranked
40th in beer per capita consumption.  Then again with over a billion people being
even being ranked 40th still means it's a country that consumers a lot of beer.

The town of Hot Springs Arkansas is famous for its hot springs - makes sense to us.
But it also has a very special beer distinction - the Bathhouse Brewery & Distillery
located in the downtown area boasts that they were the world's first brewery to
use thermal spring water as its main ingredient.

There is just one beer only restaurant to have ever won a Michelin star it's Luksus
in Brooklyn, NY.  Fittingly, Luksus means "luxury" in Danish.

In ancient Egypt if a man offered a lady a sip of his beer the couple was said to
be betrothed.  Beats getting a ring if you ask us.... and it's cheaper.

One of our favorite lines from The Simpsons is when Homer says:
"Beer.  Now there's a temporary solution!"

What was the largest glass of beer ever poured on earthy you ask.  As far as we
know it happened during the 2014 Tour de France at the Fleece Countryside Inn in
Yorkshire, England.  To complete the pour, Inn employees  climbed a scaffold and
emptied 3,664 pints of ale (one for each kilometer of the race) into a massive glass.

Famous for creating tiny landscapes and scenes within clear glass bottles Carl
Worner was also a philosopher of sorts.  His best know quotation was: "Who does
not love beer, wine, women, and song remains a fool his whole life long."

Kunan City in Japan was the place where one of Japan's most esoteric beers was
created.  It's called Tosa Kuroshio Karyudo.  It's a 5% ABV brew made with a 4:1
hops ratio and rice flour.  The brewer then adds "dashi" a fish stock made from
seaweed and dried Bonito fish.  The stock is often used in miso soup and creates
the brew's signature fishy flavor.  We would probably even suffer a Bud instead.

Researchers at the University of Western Ontario found thamicronutrients called
polyphenols in one 12-ounce (0.35-liter) bottle of beer create protective levels of
plasma antioxidants that can prevent heart disease.

One of the oldest drinking songs in the world comes from an ancient Sumerian
poem.  Here are a few translated line: "What makes your hear feel wonderful /
Makes our hear feel wonderful / Our liver is happy, our heart is joyful...
When I turn around and have an abundance of beer!"

It's often been claimed that at any given time, 0.7% of the world is
drunk. So 50 million people are drunk right now.  There is no credible
statistic that says how many have reached that point on beer.

Over heard at a recent party.  One beer geek asks a millennial to read a can
ofcraft beer for some information.  He responds - "5.5% ABV, 70 IBUs and it
looks like 1 p.i.n.t, what ever that stands for".  True story.

The average Russian drinks the equivalent of 32 pints of pure alcohol per year
and about 500,000 deaths annually are thought to be drink-related. That includes
about 30,000 annually due to road accidents and several thousand of drowning.

Two alternate definitions of a bartender:
The only psychiatrist who works in and apron
A man who brings you in contact with the spirit world.

"What contemptible scoundrel has stolen the cork to my lunch?"
W.C. Fields

"You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning."
