Congratulations to Yuengling Brewing on their 191st birthday. It is the oldest
operating brewery in the USA, having been established and brewing since 1829.

n China — where the pandemic began and where lockdown took place earlier than
elsewhere — AB InBev achieved its highest ever volume of sales last month than
any other in their history in that nation.

The liquor license of New York City’s oldest beer garden — The Beer Garden at
Bohemian Hall in Astoria — has been suspended for violating the state’s COVID-19
guidelines.  We were there recently but of course wore our masks.

Jose Cuervo has just released Playamar, a hard seltzer made with Jose Cuervo
tequila.Playamar — in lime and grapefruit flavors — checks in at 90 calories, 4.5%
ABV, with zero carbs and sugar. We still prefer beer, even Bud Light. Maybe.

Jay doesn't wear glasses, he just empties them.

Our local bar doesn't like to give big discounts. From 5 PM to 6PM they
have a relatively Happy Hour.

Quiz time! (easy) What type of beer has the highest alcohol content?r? A. Stout

Aluminum cans are recycled at nearly twice the rate of plastic and glass beverage
containers. 120 million beverage cans every day in the United States, that’s
45 billion a year which is equivalent to twelve 12-packs per person.

The vast majority of those 45 billion cans being recycled get turned into new cans,
so that there's 73% recycled content on average in most cans

One fun beer cocktail is called Root Beer.  No not root beer.  Take 12 ounces of a
macro lager (think PBR) add 1/3 ounce of amaretto and 2/3 ounce of Root liqueur
or root beer schnapps.  Stir gently and pour in a chilled glass.

Staff members at a library in Washington experienced a blast from the past this
week when cans of beer and chewing gum from the 1980s were discovered behind
some shelves.Five cans of Hamms beer and a package of Godzilla Heads gum were
discovered at the Walla Walla, They then threw it all in the trash.

One brewery is using treated wastewater to make beer. That’s right. We’re talking
about water that was likely once in a toilet. The Canadian brewery Village Brewery
has just released a batch of beer using this method. We'll pass.

Quiz Time- part 2. Why do many beers lose flavour when served cold?  A. Cold
temperatures dull your tongue,  B  Cold dissolves sugars in the beert,  C. Cold kills
the yeast in the beer D. Cold makes the bubbles start to oxygenate
Ans. A

Sour beer is an ancient type of beer in which wild yeast and bacteria are allowed to
grow in freshly brewed beer (wort), which then ferments. After this stage, the wort is
often transferred to wooden barrels where it matures for months or years. During
that time, the microbes produce numerous metabolic products -- including ethanol,
acids and esters -- that provide much of the unique flavor of sour beers.

Beer cocktail - The Stout Sangaree  Pour 2 tablespoons of simple syrup into a
chilled glass. Add 12 ounces stout (we use Guinness Export) then float 2 ounces of
ruby port on top of the foam.  Yummy.

Hunter Thompson

Beer is by far the most popular alcoholic drink in the world but is only th
third-most popular drink on Earth, after water and tea

An ancient Egyptian document lists 17 distinct types of beer, with names like
"joy-bringer" and "heavenly. How right they were.

We hope you don't have a t-shirt with the saying "Beer is proof that God loves us
and wants us to be happy" that falsely attributes it to Benjamin Franklin. He did say
something similar in a letter to Abbé Morellet, but the subject was wine, not beer.
