Brooklyn Brewery's main plant and headquarters will convert to 100%
wind power supplied with New Wind Energy from the Fenner, NY wind
farm according to

The five year wind power purchase agreement makes Brooklyn not
only the first brewery to fully convert to wind but also makes them the
first commercial building in NYC to switch all of its electric load to wind.

Steve Hindy, President of the brewery said, "we believe in corporate
responsibility.  We believe in being a good citizen in our community.  
Buying wind power from an in state supplier is the right thing to do
and it's good for business."
China is now the world's #1 brewer in a survey just released by
Japan's Kirin Brewery Co.  The rise of China was attributed to the beer
output from foreign brewers who have relocated production facilities in
China.  The United Sates fell to second place, while Germany remained in
third, followed by Brazil and Russia.

Lowenbrau , Franziskaner and Spaten, are being sold to
Belgium's Interbrew.  This will make Interbrew Germany's top beer seller.
