| More Recommended NJ Beer Events / News!. The latest news from the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild Say Hello to Ramstein Barley Wine On Saturday, April 11th Ramstein Brewing will be debuting their first ever Ramstein Barley Wine. This Beer is 9.5% Abv. and is dry hopped with Mandarina Barvaria and Cascade hops. It will be sold exclusively at the Ramstein Brewhaus and will only be available for growler fills and in sixtels. On Saturday April 11, Ramstein Beer will be served at the Kinnelon PBA 4th Annual Beefsteak, which will be held at the Roman Catholic Church on Miller Road in Kinnelon. The event starts at 7:00 PM and will be catered by The Brownstone. There will be a tricky tray, music, and a 50/50 raffle. On April 25th and 26th (Saturday and Sunday) Ramstein will be served at the Tap New York Craft Beer Festival located at Hunter Mountain in the Great Northern Catskills. On Monday, May 4th, Ramstein Beer will be served at the Pig and Prince Restaurant located in Montclair, NJ for a fundraiser event. Ramstein's Double Platinum Blonde was mentioned on Men's Journal as one of the Best 101 Beers in America. Tickets Available Now for Garden State Craft Brewers Guild 19th Annual Beer Festival Order tickets online for the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild 19th Annual Beer Festival, Saturday, June 27at 12:30pm - 4:30pm on the Battleship New Jersey. Our biggest turnout yet--20 NJ Breweries. Music by Cabin Dogs. Food for purchase. Ticket includes free self-guided tour of battleship and collectible glass. VIP tickets get in one hour early and allow you to try a range of special beers that may run out before main session starts. ------------------------- River Horse to Debut Summer Blonde in a Can It's Summer Blonde season! Your favorite warm weather hippo is back, and will be available in cans for this first time this year. River Horse Brewing Company is pairing up with Cape May Lewes Ferry on April 10th for a great beer dinner, and will then be at America On Tap in Robbinsville, NJ and the Reading Craft Beer Festival in Reading, PA on the 18th. They will have a specialty cask at the Yards Real Ale Fest on the 19th. April 25th is full of great events with McCooles Red Lion Beer Fest and the Cottman Craft Beer Fest in PA that day. We will cap off the month with a Brewer's Dinner at The Fiddler's Elbow on the 29th. Keep an eye out for weekly specials in the River Horse gift shop, plus a variety of casks, new merchandise, and their usual weekend brewery tours. The gift shop is open for merchandise and take out beer Friday through Sunday, 12-5pm. ------------- Peoples Choice Award for Cape May Brewing A new 30-barrel brewhouse for Cape May Brewing Company has been installed, in our expansion into a second location, a 15,000 square-foot warehouse. This brings CMBC's production brewery count up to two, both located in the industrial complex of the Cape May Airport. There will be a ribbon cutting for the new space in early May, With expansion we will produce up to 15,000 barrels of tasty beer. March was the month of awards for CMB recipes. Out of 150 breweries on site, and thanks to 25,000 patrons, CMB took home the People's Choice Award at the 10th Annual Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival. CMB also took home the Jersey Brewery of the Year Award from the New York International Beer Competition ------------------------- Saison du Flounder in Craft Beer Face-Off Flounder Brewing Company will be opening up at the end of April for some growler fill days -- check out their Facebook page for more details. Flounder Brewing's Saison du Flounder will also be at the Prudential Center on April 7th for the NJ/NY Craft Beer Face-Off at the Devils vs. Ranger's Game. You can order tickets online. In the meantime Flounder Brewing is brewing up inventory for May and June and working on some new pilot batches ----------------------------- Tuckahoe Fostering the Funk Keep an eye out for the first release in a new series of beers from Tuckahoe Brewing Company called Foster the Funk. The world of wild yeast and bacteria can produce some of the most flavorful, intense, intricate, and complex flavors and smells, but it can also produce some of the most nuanced, subtle, and gentle profiles. With their Foster the Funk series, Tuckahoe will take everyone on a journey of the endless possibilities that sour, funky, and wild beers can provide. They have been working on pilot batches, testing a variety of mixed cultures, and profiling different fermentation and aging characteristics for quite some time. ------------- Australasia Double IPA for Harvest Moon Cask Night Harvest Moon Brewery will be hosting their monthly cask night on Thursday April 9th @ 5:30pm. April's cask will be Australasia Double IPA with Mosaic hops. Later in the month, a new Amber Ale will be hitting the Harvest Moon taps along with Sturgis Pop's Double IPA. Sturgis Pop's is brewed every April to commemorate the passing of Chef Tank's father. This year's first batch of Berliner Weisse will be hitting the taps near the end of the month as well. They will again be offering a rotating selection of house-made syrups for the Berliner Weisse. ----------------------- Pi to Sponsor 2015 Tour of Somerville Bike Race Pi Brewing Company just finalized a deal to be a craft brew sponsor of the 2015 Tour of Somerville bike race! On Monday, May 25th, the Pi Brewing Company John Chiselko Category 2 Race will be held in Somerville, NJ. ----------------------------------------- New Jersey Beer Co. The casks are a Kilt Lifter Wee Heavy and a Stickebier. The Wee Heavy Cask (wee meaning small as in amount served and heavy meaning a high alcohol content) is a copper-colored Scottish ale that is sweet with a complex malt character. This cask has caramel notes and rum barrel spiciness from aging in oak Caribbean rum barrels. It also has a warm alcohol presence at 9.2% AbV. The Stickebier Cask is malty and full-bodied with a relatively high alcohol content. Stickebier is German slang for "secret brew." Krogh's April Seasonal on tap will be an Altbier. Please call ahead for specific availability (973) 729-8428 or check their website ------------- Screamin' Hill Brewery Springs Towards Opening Last week Screamin' Hill Brewery in Cream Ridge NJ received their certificate of occupancy and their state liquor license. They are currently setting up their system and hope to be brewing in the next few weeks. They are looking forward to a spring opening! ------------------------------ Angry Erik Expands Distribution Angry Erik Brewing is now on tap in Sussex, Morris, Hunterdon, Warren, Passaic and Bergen Counties! After celebrating a successful one year Anniversary in February, Angry Erik Brewing has made the leap to distribute outside of Sussex & Morris counties. New places to get your Angry Erik beer include Gnarly Brews in Phillipsburg, New York Wing Factory in Fort Lee NJ, The Stirling Hotel in Stirling, NJ & Nik's Wunderbar in Whitehouse Station! ---------------------------------- Ramsteins Maibock High Point Brewing will released Ramsteins Maibock on March 14 to great aclaim. Ramsteins Maibock is a rich amber bock that is brewed with Vienna and Munich malts. Lager yeast ferments this beer to create a malty character with a hint of caramel toffee aroma. This beer was selected as one of the best 100 beers in the world by Mens Journal Magazine in 2014. It was also awarded a Silver medal by TAP NY in 2004, and it contains 7.5% ABV.
