A top ‘o the morning
To the Irish mead
To the bartender more tips
For this pleasant mead was
Sweeter than a fair maiden's lips
Over to the brisk taste of an amber
The refreshment of a smooth  pale
I was hanging on the edge
Waiting for my  cask-conditioned ale

Brian Hutton

Golden, amber, pale or porter,
doesn't matter,
just bring me a beer
clear as the Northern night,
fresh as the company I keep.
And maybe just one more before I sleep.

Marcus Kevin Fishly

There once was a man who did not have a fear
when he sat down and drank a six pack of beer
his belly did bloat, his weight it did rise
but the beer gave the feeling of being so wise

The thought of it cooling, so frosted and near
in the mug it sits so golden that beer
the taste is so good never bitter or queer
bringing always a laugh and never a tear

Many a time in that room full of cheer
a wrong emotion did come from that beer
it was never right to hold it so dear
replacing importance with just another cold beer

William Butler Yeats

A statesman is an easy man, he tells his lies by rote.
A journalist invents his lies, and rams them down your
So stay at home and drink your beer and let the
neighbors vote.

Oliver Holmes

Let schoolmasters puzzle their brain,
With grammar, and nonsense, and learning;
Good liquor, I stoutly maintain,
Gives genius better discerning.

Words to heed before you drink
read each one and carefully think:
Ale before sleeping, morning of weeping.
Beer before gin, sick in the bin.
Vodka and ice, pay a high price.
Beer and champagne, hurt in your brain
Big IPA, turn slightly grey
Bit too much port, wind up in court

J.H. O'Donald

When the glass is full,
Drink up! Drink up!
This maybe the last time
We see this cup.
If God wanted us sober,
He'd knock the glass over,
So while it is full we drink up!

Jake McGill

Heres to a long life, and a happy one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and a honest one.
A cold beer... and another one!

Harry Zahn

So let me eat when I'm hungry
Drink when I'm dry...
If the whiskey doesn't kill me
I guess I'll drink till I die..."

Mihael Reed

With so many flavors
in dark or light
you’ll find a few brands
that tastes just right

With kegs, draft and tap
and even microbrew
there’s so many choices
try more then just a few

An iced cold beer
no doubt, is such a winner
there’s even been nights
that’s all I’ve had for dinner

Emily Dickinson

I taste a liquor never brewed
From Tankards scooped in Pearl
Not all the Frankfort Berries
Yield such an Alcohol!

Inebriate of air am I
And Debauchee of Dew
Reeling thro’ endless summer days
From inns of molten Blue

Gary Graffy

Here is to the bitter eye of the even sky
The lovely beer I imbibe
So I can feel just a little more alive
For that cardiac killing back breaking
Blood spilling sweat distilling nine to five

John F McCullagh

Blessed are we all to live in a time
when the love of Craft beer exceeds that for wine.
Hops, malt and barley all now rule the day
When brewed up together in a nice I.P.A.
Who cares if some hipsters choose to babble away
about hints of oak in some obscure Chardonnay.
We are no longer limited to our father’s Budweiser.
The vast choice of beers would astound those old timers!
Cherry Wheat, pumpkin, and Oktoberfest
You’ll fall down on your face ere you’ve tried all the rest.
As Ben Franklin stated wittily and succinctly”
“Beer is the proof God meant man to be happy.”
