Doug Vohden, Tom Nooney, Brandon Einhorn,
Art Hannemann, Brian Lynch, Jay Eichelberger,
Dan Soboti, Livingston Hinckley, Andrew Mac Kenzie.

Meeting was a presentation by Todd Rivers of
FX Matt Brewery, brewers of the Saranac portfolio
and Utica Club as well as many contract brews,
most notably Brooklyn. He explained that the
Saranac beers are distributed in 17 states and
the Utica Club brand, the brewery’s largest seller is
sold in only about five states. The brewery also
contracts some of IT’S beers at the Harpoon brewery
because Harpoon has a 22oz. bottle bottling line
and Matt’s does not, and their Saranac High Peaks
Series is packaged only in 22 oz. bottles.
He brought samples of only two kinds,
the Saranac White IPA and the
Saranac High Peaks Chocolate Orange Porter.
Beers sampled after the meeting were:
Jamil’s Evil Twin IPA a homebrew by Brandon Einhorn,
“Trapped in Amber” Ale, a homebrew
by Andrew MacKenzie,
Thunder Hole Ale from Bar Harbor Brewing,
provided by Tom Nooney,
Epic Brewing’s 825 State Stout,
provided by Vince Capano,
Sierra Nevada’s 2002 Bigfoot Barleywine,
provided by Brian Lynch
and Oskar Blues Devian Dales IPA ,
provided by Vince Capano.
A brief discussion after the meeting led to the decision to
have the May meeting be a tasting of the dubbel style, with
four examples of American dubbels competing against
four examples of Belgian dubbels.
Meeting ended at 6:45 pm
