|Gaslight Awarded Gold Medals!
The Beverage Tasting Institute has awarded
Gaslight's head brewer DJ Soboti three gold medals!
DJ's Satan Claws, Slalom Ale, and Extra Special Bitter each scored over 90 points
to earn the Institute's highest award.
According to the judges, Satan Claws had "an avalanche of sweet malty, fruit notes,
full bodied with a lush, sikly texture. It was perfetly balanced. A winner!" The
Slalom Ale had " aromas of fresh toasted grain and just baked bread....was well
balanced with a mild off-dry ale fruitiness. Very clean with a crip, refreshing
finish." The Extra Special Bitter was full bodied and dry with notes of earth,
mineral, evergreen, and edgy hop bittness. Nicely proportioned."
Congratulations from the entire beernexus team to DJ Soboti!!

|Kick off the summer season with our
BIGGEST tasting meeting of the year!
The Draught Board 15's May meeting, a tasting of 15 different beers from
the Pabst line, was such a success that we've doing it again at our June
12th get together but this time with summer beers!
The summer months are often associated with the typical "lawnmower"
brew, a freezing cold light lager, in a can, with little hop bite and a low level
of malt body. However, for the discerning beer drinker, summer offers
much more in the way of styles and flavors. Quality summer brews are
crisp, refreshing, full of snap, with a thirst-quenching profile of flavor.
Experience just how good summer beers can actually be when the DB15
presents a complete tasting of some of the best seasonal brews available.
Beernexus.com's feature writer, Dan Hodge, will personally select and
analyze each of the beers at the tasting.
After the tasting, see part TWO of the hit feature film American Beer, a
documentary by director Paul Kermizi, which will be shown on the Gaslight's
giant screen. The film, generously provided
by Brian Lynch, is everything a beer movie should be -
funny, informative, and thirst provoking.
Only club members can attend this meeting. New members can join at the door.
