The DB15 is the largest beer appreciation organization in New
Jersey, but what about the East Coast?  Well it's time to make
our move.  Bring a new member to the next meeting, have them
officially register, and get a Gaslight beer compliments of the
DB15 Cask Commissioners.

Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan?

Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the
full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $65 covers all meetings,
plus discounts for DB15 special events.

This year members received benefits that totaled well
over the dues
amount.  Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY
beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers
Festival, and the Victorian Dinner.  In addition members on the full
pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee which is
now $10 per person.
Ask any Cask Commissioner
for the full details at the next meeting.

World Cup Beer Shootout

What do the countries France, England, Croatia, and
Belgium have in common?  All are semi-finalists in the
planet's largest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup.  Also,
they all make beer! Since the championship game of the
tournament will be played on the same day of our meeting
(June 15) the DB15 will match the
final two nations -
France and Croatia in a blind tasting of their very best
beers. Will our results match the one on the pitch? Does
greatness in soccer equal greatness in the brewery?  Your
vote decides it all.  Don't miss this beer shootout..

All are encouraged to wear a jersey from one of the
competing nations. Join the excitement!
At the Gaslight, Sunday, July 15 at 4 PM

You do not need to know anything about soccer
(a/k/a football) to attend.  Just like beer.
We hope to have an
array of beers rarely seen in the area.  Don't miss it!

The FIFA World Cup, often simply called the World Cup, is
an international association football competition contested by
the senior men's national teams of the members of the
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the
sport's global governing body. The championship has been
awarded every four years since the inaugural tournament in
1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not held
because of the Second World War.

The current format of the competition involves a
qualification phase, which currently takes place over the
preceding three years, to determine which teams qualify for
the tournament phase.  After this, 32 teams, including the
automatically qualifying host nation(s), compete in the
tournament phase for the title at venues within the host
nation(s) over a period of about a month.

The World Cup is the most prestigious association football
tournament in the world, as well as the most widely viewed
and followed sporting event in the world, exceeding even
the Olympic Games; the cumulative audience of all matches
of the last World Cup was estimated to be 27 billion with an
estimated 715.1 million people watching the final match, a
ninth of the entire population of the planet!

This Championship Trophy is not awarded to the winning
nation permanently. World Cup winners retain the trophy
only until the post-match celebration is finished. They are
awarded a gold-plated replica rather than the solid gold
original immediately afterwards.  The winner of our beer
shootout however will get to keep the first ever DB 15
Award Certificate fully adorned with sold gold color
courtesy of Crayola Crayons.

Congratulations to Gaslight on the 20th Anniversary!!
Well done and best wishes for 20 more.
