| Oct. 8 Meeting Bottle Share Here's your chance to show off some of those special bottles you've been waiting to share with people who truly appreciate craft beer. Every one attending the meeting on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 4 PM, should bring at least one large bottle (750ml or a 22 oz.) or two/three 12 oz. bottles. Any style from any brewery will be fine as will home brews. Come prepared with some information about the brewery and the beer to present to the group. We'll also discuss /evaluate each one and select the best of the day. Bottle Share Etiquette from Beer & Brewing Magazine 1. Bring Enough for Everyone It’s your responsibility to make sure that each attendee who wants to taste your beer gets a fair shot. 2. Take Great Beer. Take a great bottle of beer to share. This is not the time to unload the three leftover beers you bought last year. 3. Talk About The Beer Some bottle shares actually ban smart phones so that people talk about the beer instead of first checking in on Untappd. There's plenty of time for that after discussing the beer. 4. Don’t be Overly Negative Don’t declare a beer infected, inferior, or downright nasty until after the person who brought the beer has had a chance to weigh in. Then give your opinion—tactfully. 6. Don’t over-praise your own bottle. Let other people recognize that killer bottle that you brought. 7. Don’t be too late. Being able to talk about the full range of beers at a bottle share is part of the fun. ========== Home Brew Competition. We are in the planning stages for our next home brew contest. If you have a suggestion for which beer style we should use tell Dan at the next meeting or send it HERE. ------------------- If you have this beer bring it to the bottle share! Disclaimer: The above was used to take up space so the column did not have to be reformatted. It is a real beer. ================ Members - don't forget to pick up you're complimentary DB15 mug. Additional glasses also available for purchase.
