See you at the
3 Rings IPA on tap now!! Ballantine's IPA is one of the legends of
beer. To beer experts it has an almost mystical, epic stature. Once produced in Newark's
historic Ballantine Brewery, this classic IPA was brewed to a gravity of 1.068, 60 IBU's, aged
in wood for 9 months, and came in at just over 6% ABV. Gaslight's head brewer, DJ Soboti,
has painstakingly re-created this great ale and calls it 3 Rings IPA in honor of the
Ballantine three ring logo ("purity, body, flavor".) His amazing creation is currently
available on tap only at the Gaslight. Don't miss this rare treat. It's going fast.

|Record Numbers for Sierra Nevada
A record crowd of over 40 members came to the
November Draught Board 15 meeting to welcome
Sierra Nevada and enjoy samples of their fine
The meeting began with a look at the history of the
Sierra Nevada brewing company which began in
1979 when founder and home brewer Ken
Grossman built a small commercial brewery in the
town of Chico, California. Within a few short
years his company was widely acknowledged as
the premier craft brewery in the United States.
The tasting segment of the meeting was highlighted
by samples of Bigfoot, a barleywine (9.6% ABV),
and Celebration Ale (7.8%). The reddish-brown
colored Bigfoot has a dense, fruity bouquet and a
rich, intense palate. Celebration Ale, widely
recognized as one of the great beers in America, is
a robust, copper colored, full bodied ale that is
dry-hopped for a lively, intense flavor and aroma.
Everyone attending the meeting received a Sierra
Nevada glass and commemorative coaster. Many
door prizes were also given away including
t-shirts,tap handles and bar mirrors.
