The DB15 is the largest beer appreciation organization in New
Jersey, but what about the East Coast? Well it's time to make
our move. Bring a new member to the next meeting, have them
officially register, and get a Gaslight beer compliments of the
DB15 Cask Commissioners.
Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan?
Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the
full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $50 covers all meetings,

Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full
pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee.
Ask club treasurer Brian Lynch, or any Cask Commissioner
for the full details at the next meeting.

|June 8 meeting - 4 PM at the Gaslight
DECONSTRUCTING AN IPA
Samuel Adams' award winning Latitude 48 IPA is brewed
with a unique blend of hops from top growing regions in
Germany, the UK, and the US, all close to the 48th
Latitude. In 2013 they added Mosaic™ hops from
Washington state to complement the floral German
Hallertau Mittelfrueh, earthy UK East Kent Goldings,
and grapefruity American Simcoe® and Zeus. The result
is a layered hoppiness that’s full of personality, but not
overpowering, . The beer's distinctive hop character is
balanced by the subtle use of a two-row pale malt
blend, Caramel 60, and Gambrinus Honey Malt. At
6% ABV and 60 IBUs this is one of the most popular
beers in the entire Same Adams portfolio.
But our meeting is not just about Samuel Adams
Latitude 48. We will be "deconstructing" it into a sort
of Hops 101 course. Not only will be sampling Latitude 48
bottles but we will also taste each of five limited-
release varietal beers, each hopped solely with one
of the five strains in Latitude 48!
Every beer we will be tasting was made with the
identical recipe except for the hops. There's no better way
to enjoy good beer and learn about hops.
Added bonus - any beer leftover from the meeting will
be given away to members, free!
Don't miss this chance to get deconstructed -
Sunday, June 8, at 4 PM, only at the Gaslight.
Advanced Tasting Notes on
Deconstructed Latitude 48
•Latitude 48 Hallertau Mittelfrueh IPA – Hallertau Mittelfrueh
hops [Hallertau, Germany] create soft bitterness along with
delicate lemony citrus and resinous pine notes, balanced by
a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.
•Latitude 48 East Kent Goldings IPA– East Kent Goldings
[East Kent, UK] add a mellow bitterness with earthy, floral
and apricot notes, offset by a slight sweetness and full body.
•Latitude 48 Ahtanum™ IPA– Ahtanum™ hops [Yakima
Valley, WA] contribute a very balanced and typically
“American” orange peel, piney and floral flavor and aroma
to this brew, tempered by a slight sweetness and full body.
•Latitude 48 Simcoe® IPA– Simcoe® hops [Yakima Valley,
WA] add bitterness and dramatic grapefruit peel and pine
resin notes, with the slight sweetness and full malt body to
round out the concentrated hop character.
•Latitude 48 Zeus IPA– Zeus hops [Yakima Valley, WA]
contribute bitterness and an intense, pungent resinous pine
flavor. The balance of the brew leans strongly toward
the hop character, but is softened by the malt
sweetness and body.
