The DB15 is the largest beer appreciation organization in New
Jersey, but what about the East Coast? Well it's time to make
our move. Bring a new member to the next meeting, have them
officially register, and get a Gaslight beer compliments of the
DB15 Cask Commissioners.
Why sign up for the club dues full payment plan?
Enjoy the many benefits available to club members on the
full-payment plan. A one time fee of only $50 covers all meetings,
plus discounts for DB15 special events.
This year members received benefits that totaled well over the dues
amount. Substantial discounts were provided for the TAP NY
beer fest trip, the Newark Bears baseball outing, the NJ Brewers
Festival, and the Victorian Dinner. In addition members on the full
pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee.

for the full details at the next meeting.

TAP-NY Trip is SOLD OUT!!
This year's trip sold out over a month in advance!!
Currently over 75 breweries will be present at the
festival offering nearly 300 different beers.
Bus leaves at approximately 9 AM, Sunday April 27.
Come early for coffee and bagels at the Gaslight.
Beer, raffles, movies, and Jeff as our MC all on the bus.

Duel of the Doubles

Meeting called to order at 4:20 pm.
Members present were:
Dan Soboti, Dan Hodge, Vince Capano, Brian Lynch,
Tom Nooney, Faith Franzino, Chris Johnson, Glenn De
Luca, Brandon Einhorn, Bob Fleno, Mark Ferguson,
Raffi Manjekian, Jeff Levine, and Neil Mukharjee
Non member present: Laura Fleno
Meeting was a “competition” of Belgian vs. American
dubbel ales, with members blind tasting each and rating
them on a scale of one to ten. A contest was also held in
which each person was asked to identify the beer they
were drinking in the blind tasting.
Ratings were tallied by Dan Hodge and Mark Ferguson.
The results in order of their scores:
1st. Maredsous Abbey Dubbel
2nd. Yards Trubbel de Yards
3rd. St. Bernardus Prior 8 Dubbel
4th. (Tie) La Trappe Trappist Ale & Bornem Abbey Dubbel
6th. Westmalle Dubbel
7th. Starr Hill Dubbel

9th. Chimay Dubbel
10th Boaks Two Blind Monks Dubbel
11th. Ommeganag Abbey Dubbel
12th. Flying Fish Abbey Dubbel
Belgium defeated the USA by a wide margin.
Winner of the Identify The Beer contest was Dan Hodge.
Beers tried after the meeting were:
1. John Henry Lick Spiker Ale provided by Vince Capano.
2. St. Bernardus Abbot 12 Quad provided by the club
3. Jeff Levin’s Session IPA homebrew4. La Guillotine
Belgian Blonde Ale provided by Tom Nooney
5. Gouden Carolous Easter Beer provided b y Tom Nooney
All remaining beer was given away- FREE-
to everyone in attendance. You have to love this club!
Meeting ended at 6:05 pm
The difference between Trappist and Abbey beers
Tentatively Scheduled For June 8
Gaslight will not be available on our regular meeting day
of the second Sunday of the month since that is Mother's
Day. The following Sunday is Seton Hall graduation day
which will make Gaslight again unavailable. As such
there will not be a May meeting.
Our next meeting will be on June 8, topic TBA.
