The DB15 is the largest beer appreciation organization in New
Jersey, but what about the East Coast? Well it's time to make
our move. Bring a new member to the next meeting, have them
officially register, and get a Gaslight beer compliments of the

Upstairs in the Gaslight' s DB15 meeting room, one plush
swivel chair, upholstered in rich, Corinthian leather, was empty
due to the absence of Cask Commissioner Dan Hodge, who
was rumored to be down the shore working on a Hurricane
Sandy temporary dune restoration project being run jointly by
Flying Fish brewery and the office of Governor Chris Christe.
The volunteers all drank copious amounts of FU Sandy and
wedge the empty bottles around the ample girth of the
Governor and then pour sand on them thus transforming the
Governor into a temporary dune. Barbara Buono showed up to
help, but left when she was told that she would not be
allowed to bury the Governor's head..
After the unsung heroes of the DB 15 IT Department worked
out the logistics of connecting the laptop computer to the
projector, the meeting got underway at 4:15 P.M. Members and
guests in attendance were as follows: Brandon Einhorn*, Eric
Miller, Randy Needham*, Glenn DeLuca*, Justin Jackson,
Livingston Hincley, Neil Mukherjee and Rafi Manjikian*.
The people with the * after their names need to have their
pictures taken for DB 15 ID cards.
The format of the meeting was as follows, we would drink the
appropriate beer while watching a video clip of the brewer
discuss the subtle nuances of his beer, a seamless melding of
technology and craft beer. However, due to a few malcontents
(we know who you are) the actual meeting was more like
people sitting around drinking beer, while yelling "Push
the button", "Start the video", "Turn the volume up",
and "Turn the volume down". Beers sampled were as follows
1 Fuller's London Pride
2 Fuller's Bengal Lancer IPA
3 (Sam Adams) New Albion IPA
4 Lost Abbey Red Barn Ale
5 Rogue Captain Sig's Deadliest Ale (Northwestern Ale)
6 Rogue Farms Honey Kolsch
7 Green Flash Le Freak
8 Green Flash Trippel
9 St. Bernardus Pater 6
10 St. Bernardus Prior 8
11 Cricket Hill Reverend Rick's Ale
Beers sampled after the meeting were:
Brandon E. Blueberry Ale, Randy N. Patriot Pale Ale,
Brandon E. IPA, Moosbacher Kellerbier
provided by Vince C.
Then the meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted by substitute
Corresponding Secretary Brian Lynch
The September meeting will feature a special guest speaker
Mr. Billy Morrissey of Belukus Marketing Inc. importers of
some of Europe's finest beers including Malheur, Lefebvre,
Wells & Young's, Belhaven, and many more.
The October meeting will be a tasting of Oktoberfest beers
from around the world. No, not the usual suspects but we're
working on bringing in some rare and hard to find gems.
The November meeting will be our Home Brew Showdown as
all brewers are asked to make a session IPA (4.5% or less).
See Dan Soboti (U-Brew) for all the rules.
December is highlighted by the annual Gaslight Victorian
Dinner. Information on the menu and club discount TBA.
All in all it's a great lineup of exciting events. Don't miss a
meeting,.... and bring a friend. New members always
welcome, after all, beer people are the best!
