Magic Hat HIPA hits NJ......
Magic Hat HIPA, a mouth puckering, aggressive ale, with a clear, coppery
body and balanced backdrop, is now avaiable as part of a new 12 pack.
Currently the pack (3 bottles each of HIPA, Mother Lager, Hocus Pocus,
and #9) is only available in selected stores in south Jersey.
HIPA was selected as one of the top beers at last month's Draught Board
15 mini-festival. Check out some of the winners on the picture page.
at the GASLIGHT- MEETINGS, NEWS, INFORMATION
Next Meeting: 3 PM, Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Gaslight
Nearly forty Draught Board 15 members enjoyed a great "special
event" July meeting when they went to see the home team
Newark Bears play the Somerset Patriots in minor league baseball
The day began at the Gaslight with pre-trip bagels and an
impressive assortment of DJ's specially made flavored cream
cheeses. From there it was a quick walk to the South Orange
train station and a short ride to Riverfront Stadium. Another
one block walk and we were at the ballpark where, once again,
Dan Soboti secured great seats for our group just behind the
first base line and near the beer vendors.
The large crowd roared on many plays, but perhaps the loudest
noise of the day came when, thanks to Dan, the Gaslight
contingent was mentioned on the giant scoreboard in right field.
Rumor had it that it was the first time the beer vendors joined in
Special kudos go out to Joe Biland for his creative rooting. Even
the ball players seemed to enjoy his enthusiasm as several saluted
his efforts. Also, a tip of the baseball cap to Joey Levine's dad
for finding the only place in the stadium that sold Anchor beer.
According to the stadium manager, the DB15 members bought
his entire month's supply of Anchor Steam in a single game.
Returning to the Gaslight, the group went upstairs for great
food and outstanding beer. The pig roast, with an array of tasty
breads, salads, and beans were perfect compliments to the
varieties of Gaslight beer on hand.
Baseball, beer, Gaslight and the Draught Board 15 - perfect
