pay plan are exempt from the individual meeting beer fee.

September Meeting Report
by Dan Hodge
Members present were:
Dan Hodge, Livingston Hinckley, Brian Lynch, Brandon
Einhorn, DJ Soboti, Dan Soboti, Jeff Levine, Tom Nooney
and guest, Michelle Sullivan and guest, Steve Welgoss,
Nanette Welgoss. The meeting was a presentation by Mike
Battaglia and Gennaro Scotto D’Anniello of Total Beverage
Solutions, importers of spirits, wines, and world class beer.
Beers provided by Total Beverage Solutions were
Weihenstephaner Vitus (strong hefeweizen, 7.7%) ABV,
judged best beer in the world at the 2011 World Beer
Awards, Greene King Old Golden Hen at 4.5% ABV
and Old Crafty Hen at 6.5% ABV.
Beers sampled after the meeting were Great Divide
Claymore Scotch Ale Wee Heavy provided by Brian Lynch
and Brandon Einhorn’s Cologne Kolsch home brew.
A surprise brew was then brought out by Mike Battaglia: a
one of a kind, one time only special brew, made for Angela
Merkel, Prime Minister of Germany, by Weihenstephan.
This 13.3% eisbock was made especially for Ms. Merkel
in a six barrel only brewing. Four barrels were sent to
Berlin for Ms. Merkel’s personal and affairs of
state use, one barrel was sent to Moscow to be used
as designated by Vladimir Putin and the remaining
barrel was sent to Oldschtadter Distributing in Munich
to be marketed as they saw fit.
Total Beverage Solutions was lucky enough to procure a
gallon and a half of this unbelievable brew which they
immediately packaged into 16oz swing top bottles,
three of which they brought to the meeting to be
appreciated by those members present.
Most of those present awarded it 5 stars and were
greatly disheartened to learn that the this beer
will never be made again. (just kidding -
but it was a great meeting nonetheless.!)
