| The Hops Team The Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball has selected the name Hillsboro “Hops” for its Single-A baseball team affiliate. The name ‘Hops’ recognizes Hillsboro’s proud agricultural heritage and the fact that Oregon is the second largest hop producing state in the United States. The name was selected based on suggestions from ticket holders who it seems are fans of beer as well as baseball. -------- Buzzed With Bud One group of people who will be sorry to see this election year end are reporters. At the presidential debates many filed their stories while intoxicated due to an Anheuser-Busch “hospitality tent” outside the media press center where reporters are being treated to free food, brews and souvenir glasses. The beers being served were Anheuser-Busch’s “small batch” brews. Bartenders inside the tent confirmed they were indeed usually quite “busy”. Anheuser- Busch, which has apparently been the “official beer” of the the presidential debates since 1996. |

Each batch is made with 25 lbs of roasted bull gonads. Deep-fried bull testicles -- also known as Rocky Mountain oysters or prarie oysters -- are considered a delicacy in CO. --------------------------- Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley, tried negotiating a new contract that included a case of beer a day. The team didn't fulfill the request but compromised by adding the cost to their offer. ----------------------- There are about 2,100 small and independent breweries in the USA, but together they only produce about 6% of all the beer in America. |
