mR. bReWski says.......
$40 Cheeseburger

Five Yakima (WA) police officers have been
suspended for spending more than $400 in tax
money on beer for themselves.  The officers
received $61 per diems to spend on anything
they wanted other than alcohol.  Alcohol is
banned for on duty officers.   The officers tried
to hide their alcohol purchases by concocting a
scheme to persuade waitresses to write off their
bar tabs as tips on their receipts.  Typical was
buying a $5 cheeseburger and tacking on a $35
tip of which $20 would be for beer.

Free Beer = Jail

Nineteen suspected criminals have been arrested
after they were tricked by police who lured
them in with a hoax offer of free beer.
Derbyshire (England) constabulary sent letters
to dozens of suspects who had evaded detention
for several months, inviting them to ring a
marketing company offering a free crate of
beer. But when suspects called the number,
they were unwittingly put through to
Chesterfield police station.
A time and date was arranged for the promised
free alcohol to be delivered to them, but those
awaiting it were duly arrested.
You don't say.....

There is no truth to the belief that the the Mayflower
stopped at Plymouth Rock because they ran out of beer.
The myth came from the American breweries shortly before
and after prohibition in an attempt to show that beer was
a part of American heritage
Fewer than 100 breweries are currently active in Belgium,
compared to approximately 3,000 at the beginning of the
20th century. Industrialization, mergers, takeovers, and the
trend to pilsner-style beers are major reasons for it.
One of Louis Pasteur’s most famous works is “Etudes sur
la Biere” or “Studies Concerning Beer.” So it can be said that
the safety of many of our beverages, as well as the
prevention of many diseases, is partly thanks to beer.
In the late Middle Ages, very little was known about
brewing so when a batch of beer went bad the blame often
was put on “Brew Witches” sometimes causing women
thought to be witches to be burned at the stake
Homebrewing did not become legal in the U.S. until
February 1, 1979. The legislation was  signed into law
by President Jimmy Carter.
Beer, as all alcoholic drinks, is made by fermentation caused
by bacteria feeding on the yeast cells, then defecating. This
bacterial excrement is called alcohol.
Ya gotta love these guys

It makes you lean....
