| Beer Champagne Boston Beer Co Inc's Samuel Adams is launching a champagne-like brew later this month to prove that beer can be worthy of a New Year's toast. The limited run beer, called Infinium, will be sold in 750-ml bottles with foil-covered cork tops, like champagne. It is gold-colored, crisp and dry, with nearly double the alcohol content of an average beer and more than some wines. Infinium is the result of a collaboration between Jim Koch, founder of Sam Adams and Germany's Weihenstephan Brewery, the world's oldest existing brewery. Only about 15,000 cases will be available for the North American market, and Koch said that should generate less than $2 million in revenue (at $19.99 per bottle retail). "It's a small fraction of our sales, but it makes a big statement." Everyone is a Critic Steve Cowan, 67, from Madison, WI, after drinking a case of beer, used a shotgun on his television to show his disgust over Bristol Palin's Dancing With The Stars routine . The last time he shot his television was over a Brett Favre interception in a 2004 playoff game against the Eagles. The play ended the Packers season. Mr. Cowan was charged with 2nd-degree reckless endangerment and drunkenness. |
