Two Is A Crowd

London’s Meantime Brewing Co. has opened ‘The Make
Time For It’ pub in Greenwitch. Well, “pub” might be over-
selling the operation that the brewery claims is the “smallest
craft beer bar” with a capacity of two. Entry is free and you
can make a reservation during the bar’s brief 10-day
existence. The goal is to make patrons “connect with others
and appreciate the bespoke crafted elements and beer in the
bar, without digital distraction.” To accomplish the non-
connected connection, drinkers must turn over their mobile
devices to the publican upon entry. If you can manage to
unplug – even for just a pint – you’ll walk out with a
personalized bottle of Meantime’s Pale Ale.

Instant Beer

Instant craft beer is here and we have the brewers behind
To Øl, - Tobias Emil Jensen and Tore Gynther in Copenhagen
to thank for it. These two Danes have taken the idea of freeze-
dried coffee and applied it to four of their craft beers.

Freeze-drying beer takes out the water and alcohol of beer
and leaves behind a dry matter made up of sugar, protein,
bitter compounds and some additional flavors. To make it
drinkable beer again, you just add alcohol and sparkling
water. The type of alcohol you choose is up to you ― this
actually lets you get creative with the flavor of beer you want
to enjoy. The result is a beer that’s similar to one brewed in a
traditional manner, and better than most bottom-shelf beers.

It wasn’t until 1966 that Mississippi tended prohibition,
30 years after the rest of the nation.  The state did not
legalize homebrewing until 2013.
