Pliny For President

The Russian River Brewing Co. has again thrown
their favorite son’s name into the ring. “Pliny for
President” — a double dry-hopped version of their
ultra-popular Pliny the Elder — will be available from
now through the end of the year.

Pliny is a perennial candidate, having run in every
presidential election since 2008. And always with the
same platform: “Free the hops.” (This year’s release
contains new hop varieties, according RR.)
: Pliny for Prez comes in cans for the first time.

Troegs In Cheese

Troegs Independent Brewing, The Giant Company
and Caputo Brothers Creamery  have joined forces
in another cheese project.following Troegenator
Beer Cheese and Perpetual Beer Cheese, the three
companies have come together for Mad Elf Beer
Cheese. Inspired by the popular seasonal Mad Elf
beer brewed at Troegs every year for the holiday
season, the cheese is described by the creators as
“a creamy, savory, and sweet cheese with notes of
cinnamon, chocolate, coffee, and honey.”
Unfortunately the chees has no alcohol.
RBG Beer

A beer created to honor Supreme Court Justice
Ruth Bader Ginsburg last year is being re-released
after her death, but you'll have to be in Boston to
get one. Proceeds from Samuel Adams' When
There Are Nine beer,a brut-style IPA, will go to
advance women in the brewing industry, according
to the Boston-based brewery.

The beer was created and first released last year,
Samuel Adams said in a news release. Brewed on
International Women’s Day 2019, When There Are
Nine gets its name from Ginsburg's famous line,
“There will be enough women on the Supreme
Court when there are nine.”

Double Jack Is Back

Firestone Walker’s imperial Double Jack IPA, which
was discontinued in 2016, is back once more —
thanks to beer lovers who constantly asked for it.
It’s a great beer, and I’m very happy to see it in
production again in cans. Brewmaster Matt
Brynildson created a Double IPA that’s improbably
well-balanced, with four hop additions followed by
a triple dry-hopping process. The result has
wonderful rich West Coast DIPA flavors.

Pabst THC Beer

The Pabst Blue Ribbon name is now attached to a new non-alcoholic, THC-infused,
lemon-flavored seltzer. The Los Angeles-based beer manufacturer’s PR firm today
announced the formation of Pabst Labs, a licensed cannabis company based in
Los Angeles, as well as the launch of a non-alcoholic, THC-infused, lemon-flavored
seltzer, Pabst Blue Ribbon Cannabis Infused Seltzer, in California.

Ommegang Changes Course

The priorities for Brewery Ommegang in 2021 look a lot different than the Belgian-
inspired beers for which the Cooperstown, New York-based craft brewery is most
known. Those priorities include the Neon family of IPAs, a nationwide relaunch of
Idyll Days Pilsner and an old favorite in a new package, Three Philosophers cans.

Cookie Butter Beer - Oh My

The words “cookie butter beer” may seem frightening. But depending on your
affinity for the Trader Joe’s infamous Speculoos Cookie Butter spread, it may also
seem incredibly enticing.  Speculoos is a crunchy, cinnamon-spiced shortbread
cookie that has been around for centuries in the Netherlands and Belgium. More
recently, speculoos has been repurposed into a decadent blend of crushed
cookies and oil that has gained worldwide acclaim through the brand Lotus Biscoff.
o how does cookie butter translate to an alcoholic beverage? Surprisingly well, if
you like a smooth, sweet beer with an overwhelming vanilla taste that could also be
accused of smelling like a scented candle.

The Boston Beer Company has added Dogfish Head co-founder Sam Calagione
and Snap Inc. (Snapchat) chairman Michael Lynton to the company’s board of
directors. Philadelphia-headquartered GoPuff, essentially an on-demand delivery
service for products ranging from snacks to alcohol, recently completed a $380
million funding round that takes the company’s valuation to $3.9 billion
