Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Blauw

This Belgium Strong Dark Ale comes in at 11% ABV.  Nose brings sweet
wine notes akin to a good port. . The taste is of  grape, sugars and dark
fruits.  Sweet maple, nutmeg, and caramel notes in the background
throughout with toasted sugars upfront. It's malty creaminess helps to
smooth out the warming alcohol in the finish.  The lower carbonation is
appropriate for this type of beer.  Very well made.

Overall rating:-  Excellent (highest rating)
Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA

Pours a hazy copper/orange color with a creamy head that leaves
good lacing.  First smells are of gentle pine and citrus hops.  It
starts out with a light touch of malty sweetness which quickly gets
dominated by grassy, piney hops.  There is a tartness throughout
within a balancing malty background.  Well carbonated, the beer
finished creamy, slightly dry, and crisp.  A good hoppy IPA that will
please most fans of the style.

Sam Adams Revolutionary Rye

First pour brings smells of toasted caramel
malts; pine, orange, and hops.  Faint hints
of rye emerge in initial sip then move to
the  background until the finish.  Yeast and
hop spice take over in mid-sip balanced with
a light malts.  Slightly dry finish with more
pine notes.  Mouthfeel slightly thin but
well within guidelines for the style. Solid
entry from a solid brewery,

Overall rating -  good
