From Bottles to Growlers- beer reviews by SANDY FELD, certified taster
Singlecut Bon Bon 2X TNT

This is an 8.2% Imperial IPA. It opens with a subtle but distinctive
citrus hop aroma featuring lemon and melon notes. Taste brings
mango/guava, pine, grapefruit, oranges and a touch of honey.
Very mellow with a dank juiciness throughout.  Very smooth for a
double IPA.  Well made and very drinkable.

Overall Rating: Outstanding -
Pipeworks Close Encounter

This is an 6% American Black IPA that opens with light aromas of
roasted malt and toasted caramel.  Taste follows the smell with
flavors of dark roasted malts dominating over chocolate with a light
piney bitterness in the background. The roasted flavors linger into
the finish as a burnt bitterness emerges. Decent brew but
demonstrates why the style is not as popular as it once was.

Overall Rating: Average +

J. Wakefield Desperado

This is a 11% ABV Russian BA Imperial Stout
that is listed as a Mexican coffee stout.
Cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, and roasted
malts are the aromas that greet you.  Not
overly spicy oo spicy like some RIS the brew
is rich and viscous. Taste follows the nose
with light coffee throughout.  Finish brings a
light sweetness and hints of whiskey.

Overall Rating: Very Good
